About the role
Bolt's micromobility business operates across 25+ jurisdictions and continues to scale quickly. We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to own all aspects of tax compliance and coordinate strategic tax matters for this business end to end.
You will be the single point of ownership for tax across the vertical, driving direct and indirect tax compliance through a network of external service providers, and partnering with Bolt's group Tax team and external advisors on structuring, risk, and other strategic tax matters as the business evolves.
You will effectively run tax for the vertical day to day, working closely with Finance, Legal, and Commerce, while staying aligned with group Tax on policy, technical positions, and escalations. The role offers broad exposure to international tax compliance across a high growth multinational group, with strong potential for professional development.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Own end to end tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, covering VAT/indirect tax, corporate income tax, DST, withholding taxes, and other relevant tax heads, including maintaining the global compliance calendar and coordinating filings with external service providers.
- Partner with group Tax and external advisors on strategic tax matters, including new market launches, product changes, business initiatives, technical positions, tax planning, and risk assessment.
- Manage tax risk, audits, and authority enquiries by tracking legislative and regulatory developments, assessing impact, agreeing mitigation actions, and ensuring audit readiness.
- Own cash tax visibility and reporting by partnering with Finance on forecasting, resolving tax receivable positions, and maintaining a consolidated dashboard on compliance status, cash tax positions, and open exposures.
- Build scalable processes by identifying opportunities to standardise and automate compliance workflows, improve data quality, reduce manual work, and contribute to tax technology initiatives.
About you:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, Economics, or a related field, with proven tax experience in a multi jurisdictional environment across both corporate income tax and VAT/indirect tax compliance.
- Proven experience coordinating complex, multi country compliance workflows and managing internal stakeholders and external advisors against statutory deadlines.
- Experience with ERP systems, tax engines, or compliance management tools. Exposure to tax technology, automation, withholding tax, digital services tax, transfer pricing, or Pillar Two is an advantage.
- Strong judgement, analytical ability, and communication skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and appropriately escalate material risks and complex technical issues.
- Advanced written and verbal English communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across multicultural global teams.
