At Lendurai, we enable unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to operate independently of global navigation satellite systems and radio control, using computer vision and machine learning. We build solutions for the public sector and defence customers. Our core team has substantial experience in autonomous systems engineering and developing computer vision applications across Europe, including at companies like Bolt, Milrem, and Ericsson.
As a Software Engineer, Handheld Devices you will design and build the end-to-end operator experience for our new handheld Linux-based mission console. You will own the full stack, from interaction design and visual language to performant code running on the device, while integrating seamlessly with Battle Management Systems.
What you’ll do
Turn complex operational workflows into intuitive, responsive user interfaces.
Own the design process e2e, from wireframes and prototypes to final assets and production code.
Design for real-world conditions, including rugged hardware and touch, button and gimbal inputs.
Develop high-performance desktop and embedded applications that run smoothly in real time.
Work across the video pipeline, from processing and streaming to visualising live video and data for users.
Run usability sessions with users, gather feedback from the field, and iterate quickly.
What we’re looking for
Strong experience building desktop and embedded UIs.
Solid C++ skills and experience writing performance-critical code.
A strong sense for UI/UX and visual design, not just implementation.
Experience with video, image processing, or modern graphics APIs (e.g. Vulkan, OpenGL ES).
Comfort working as a generalist and taking full ownership.
Clear written communication and good documentation habits.
Nice to have
Qt framework experience.
Game-engine or immediate-mode UI tools (e.g. Dear ImGui, Unreal UMG).
Touch interfaces, handheld devices, or controller-based input.
Experience designing for defence, industrial, or other mission-critical users.
Experience with drones.
What we offer
Monthly gross salary €4,500-7,000 based on experience and impact.
Stock options.
Ability to influence major technical decisions as an early hire.
A focus on outcomes.
