Our company is the leading iGaming operators and suppliers in the Americas and we are looking for the right candidate to grow with us and help us achieve this goal. Here at Rush Street Interactive we are in the early stages of rearchitecting our largely monolithic web application into a cross-platform hybrid application. For this, we are looking for a Server Engineer to join the team and be an integral part of the modernisation of our tech stack and architecture. What You Will Do

Contribute to the company roadmap and innovation across the company
Design, develop, test and deploy Java services built mostly on top of Dropwizard, Spring and Hibernate.
Architect & have technical ownership of platform (micro)services, including enhancing services and greenfield projects
Utilize modern technologies such as Kafka, Docker, Consul, Gradle etc. to create robust and scalable systems
All About You

6+ year experience in web services, distributed systems, microservices and highly available and scalable applications
Experienced in high traffic application design, system performance and scalability
Experienced in designing and implementing RESTful APIS
Able and eager to collaborate with frontend engineers
Experience integrating third party API’s
Willingness to question the status quo and identify bad design/code patterns which can impact performance and maintainability of the code
Excellent understanding of system design and design patterns
Experienced with Agile methodology
Deep knowledge of Java and the Java ecosystem
Prior work experience with SQL
Able to demonstrate an analytical and solution-oriented mindset
Able to navigate fast in large codebase
Possess great troubleshooting skills
Demonstrate drive and vision for improvements
Highly self-motivated
Strong technical leadership skills, including the ability to lead and mentor developers within the product development team
