What we're looking for:
- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, including in a chief or senior accountant role.
- A degree in accounting, finance or a related field; an accountant's professional certificate (kutsetunnistus, level 6 or higher) is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of Estonian accounting and tax rules, including VAT in cross-border trade.
- Excellent attention to detail and a structured, ownership-driven way of working.
- The ability to explain numbers to non-finance managers, with clear conclusions, assumptions and recommendations.
- Fluent Estonian and English, written and spoken.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Merit Aktiva and Merit Palk.
- Experience with 1C, CostPocket or integrations between accounting, banking and e-commerce systems.
- Experience in distribution, wholesale or international B2B.
What you will be doing:
As our Chief Accountant, you will take ownership of end-to-end accounting and financial control across Prof-Elec and our parent company, Power Technology. You will keep our accounting accurate and compliant, and give management a clear view of cash, profitability, working capital and financial performance as we grow internationally. You will report to both the CEO / Management Board. You'll:
- Own the full accounting cycle for both companies: day-to-day accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, payroll, tax filings and employee expense reports.
- Handle VAT and tax compliance for cross-border trade: intra-EU supplies, OSS, foreign VAT registrations and exports outside the EU.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, receivables and supplier payments, including the 13-week cash forecast, payment planning, credit control and multi-currency exposure.
- Prepare monthly management reports, budgets and forecasts, with clear analysis of cash, profitability, costs and key financial risks.
- Monitor margins, landed costs and inventory performance to support commercial and operational decisions.
- Maintain strong financial controls and processes, including annual reports, audits and compliance across our international operations.
- Own the finance side of our systems, working with IT and external partners to keep data flows between 1C, Merit, banks, Stripe and OpenCart accurate and reliable.
- Handle payroll-related personnel administration: employment documentation, onboarding, leave and travel records, and employee benefits.
