The Wellbeing Services County of Kanta-Häme in Finland is seeking to recruit 2 skillful and dedicated specialist doctors (M.D.) in radiology to 2 year fixed term positions with a possibility to apply for full-time permanent positions.

The radiology unit provides services in the central hospital and different locations. The central hospital carries out MRIs, computed tomography (CT) scans, vascular studies and procedures, mammography studies and procedures, native imaging, ultrasound (US) studies and procedures, fluoroscopy studies and procedures, native imaging as well as CT for emergency imaging.

As a specialist doctor in radiology, you will work as an expert in your own field in a multiprofessional working group. A broad range of skills and experience is valued, but at minimum experience in interpreting images from native X-rays, computed tomography, and ultrasound equipment are expected. Solid experience in mammography, magnetic resonance imaging or angiography is considered as a bonus. The ability to perform ultrasound-guided biopsies and drainages, if not familiar prior, will be trained during the trial period, as it is an integral part of the specialist doctor's duties.

The recruited specialist doctors will move to work in an entirely new hospital campus from 2026 onwards. The new hospital will have a wide range of state of the art imaging and radiology equipment available. This will allow for comprehensive and accurate diagnostics for a variety of medical conditions. In the new hospital, at least the following equipment will be available: 3 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) devices, 3 computed tomography (CT) devices, 4 ultrasound devices, a mammography device, dental and limb X-ray devices, an angiography device, and a fluoroscopy device.

Qualifications: A degree as a specialist doctor in radiology from an EU/EEA - area educational institution (2005/36/EU) with a license to practice as a Specialist Doctor in Radiology-status within an EU/EEA country.

Experience: At least 3 years of previous work experience as registered professional from within EU/EEA after licensed to practice as a specialist doctor in radiology. Further previous experience is beneficial during the recognition process.

Commitment to a free-of-charge language training program, and to study a minimum 20 hrs per week in order to reach a B1 level of Finnish language at the end of the training.

Commitment to relocating and starting work in Finland after reaching your target in language training.

Fluent English language skills are considered as plus. Intermediate English language skills are required.
