The Job in a Nutshell
Coolbet is on the lookout for a Software Engineer to join our dynamic Services team. In this exciting role, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining information systems, crafting and rolling out incremental software updates, and continuously monitoring system performance to gather valuable feedback. Our Services IT team is dedicated to safeguarding users' data and ensuring compliance with GDPR and regulatory standards. We also provide crucial support for customer identification (KYC) and uphold the fundamental value of 'Bet Responsibly' by integrating various responsible gaming features.
A Sneak Peek into Your Role
- Write, test, release, and troubleshoot software using appropriate techniques and technologies.
- Assess the interrelationships between programs to anticipate and prevent unwanted results from changes.
- Analyze program performance and take corrective actions in consultation with team members and stakeholders.
- Review team members' deliverables regularly to ensure knowledge sharing and provide feedback.
- Write and maintain technical documentation, documenting programming problems and resolutions for future reference.
- Stay up-to-date with and follow the company's processes, including development processes and related procedures. Keep abreast of the company's programming languages to stay current with technological advancements.
- Collaborate with a can-do attitude, supporting business teams to ensure product and team success.
- Engage in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Provide constructive feedback where necessary.
- Be prepared for evening and weekend work as needed to support system requirements.
- Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members and assist personnel from other departments as an IT resource.
You're good at
- Prior experience in software development projects is essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in crafting complex asynchronous multi-user software and experience developing event-driven software.
- Familiarity with web concepts and frameworks like REST, SOAP, React, Ant Design, and WebSocket API. Knowledge of database technologies, particularly Postgres.
- Experience with server-side application frameworks, such as Express/Node.js (JavaScript). Proficiency in company programming languages, especially JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with containerized application management tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Efficiency at processing computer data and generating reports. Proficiency in investigating and analyzing information, and drawing conclusions.
- Effective capability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes.
- Proficiency in writing technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently while promptly communicating concerns. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to shifting priorities. Ability to maintain stress tolerance in incident management situations.
- Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork. Clear communication skills to convey information to non-technical colleagues.
- Capacity to learn and support new systems and applications.
- Fluency in verbal and written English is a must, as it's our primary means of communication.
