About the job
As an Automation Engineer R&D, you will actively participate in Repligen's R&D activities, focusing on the selection and testing of industrial and pharmaceutical devices and equipment, as well as system design with a focus on automation. You are a valued member of our global organization and an integral part of our Automation & Controls (A&C) team.
Responsibilities
As Automation Engineer R&D you will be responsible for the following:
- Undertake daily engineering tasks in projects and solve complex technical challenges as per customer or user requirements.
- Help design high-quality Automation & Controls solutions, mostly for, but not limited to pharmaceutical machines on the basis of user requirement specifications and/or requests for quotations.
- Search for, help choose, analyze, and integrate new suitable components, instruments, sensors, actuators, tools, and equipment for efficient execution of projects.
- Test and characterize devices, instruments, and systems. Compare actual test results with manufacturer specifications. Generate well-written, standardized reports detailing the tests performed, suitable for use by colleagues and customers requesting detailed test data.
Qualifications
The successful Automation Engineer meets the following requirement:
- Good understanding of laboratory-equipment and/or appliances design
- Good understanding of automation design and best practices, including PLC programming, visualization, data acquisition, and field bus communication.
- Good understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles & processes
- Positive, Proactive & Problem-Solving Mindset
