NATO CCDCOE is looking for a System Monitoring Expert
The NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) is a multinational NATO-accredited cyber defence hub in Tallinn involved in research, training, and exercises in four focus areas: technology, strategy, operations, and law. Our international team comprises experts from most NATO nations and partners across the globe.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical expertise in the field of system monitoring and observability.
- Managing and developing the monitoring and observability infrastructure of CCDCOE.
- Designing the monitoring framework of CCDCOE's technical cybersecurity exercises.
You will be able to:
- Shape the system monitoring infrastructure of CCDCOE and its exercises.
- Experiment with bleeding-edge technology and systems.
- Participate in international cybersecurity exercises and technical research projects.
- Advise NATO and Member Nations on emerging observability technologies, best practices, etc.
- Consult NATO cybersecurity community in CCDCOE's technical trainings and workshops.
- Attend relevant training courses and conferences to develop your professional skills.
Requirements for the candidate:
- Prior work experience in cybersecurity or IT field.
- Experience with system monitoring tools and/or metrics collection solutions.
- Deep knowledge in managing Linux-based operating systems.
- Good understanding of Windows operating systems and networking protocols.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
- Readiness for a background check.
- Very good verbal and written English skills.
Desirable qualifications include:
- Deep knowledge of system monitoring and metrics collection concepts.
- Experience with system monitoring and metrics collection tools (free, open or commercial).
- Prior work experience in a SOC/NOC environment.
- Ability to create relevant dashboards, implement thresholding and alerting functionality.
- Scripting and programming experience.
- Experience in writing custom monitoring scripts.
- Knowledge of automated deployment tools such as Ansible, SaltStack or Puppet.
- Interest for research activities, desire to publish your work.
- MSc in cybersecurity or IT related domain.

Employer
The position is a part of the Estonian contribution to the NATO CCDCOE and the employer is Foundation CR14 (established by the Ministry of Defence) that focuses on dual-use cyberspace technologies.
