Stockmann is looking for a Chief Accountant to the Group Finance Services Unit, based in Tallinn.

You ensure high quality financial, management and tax reporting for internal and external stakeholders by handling and ensuring correctness and timeliness of transactional accounting data and providing timely and accurate financial and tax reporting. You are responsible for bookkeeping and tax reporting of Stockmann AS and Lindex Group Oyj Estonian Branch as well as support for the management. You develop and lead the workflow in the accounting department in cooperation with Group Finance unit.

 

Your tasks will include:

  • Organising accounting department workflow in Tallinn. Supporting accounting teams and supervising quality of their work output.
  • Making instructions according to legal requirements and Lindex Group rules and regulations.
  • Running and supervising the month end closing process for the Estonian subsidiaries. 
  • Making and coordinating monthly reconciliations and account specifications for book-keeping accounts to ensure robust balance sheet reporting. 
  • Providing monthly financial statements according to IFRS to the Group on a timely manner and in good quality.
  • Ensuring that timely and accurate VAT and tax reports are provided to the tax authorities and ensuring correct and timely tax payments.
  • Ensuring correct and timely statistics and other statutory reporting.
  • Communication with external stakeholders, e.g. Tax Office and banks.
  • Preparing annual reports for the Estonian legal entities according to the local requirements.
  • Providing the needed information and reports for the Group annual report.
  • Coordinating the external audit process for the Group legal entities in Estonia.
  • Continuously monitoring and developing processes in order to increase work efficiency and participation in development projects.
  • Assisting company management in decision making and supporting the organisation in accounting and taxation related topics.
  • Risk management, to ensure all needed instructions are available in electronic format. 
  • Making sure that company complies with existing regulations and legal requirements.
  • Ensuring proper archiving of financial documentation according to legal requirements.

 

You are our person, if You have:

  • Higher education in accounting, finance or economics.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in an international company.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, legislation and taxation.
  • Understanding of internal processes and data flows related to accounting.
  • Strong analytical, systematic and structured thinking.
  • Good attention to details and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and Excel skills, knowledge of Oracle software is an advantage.
  • Fluent communication skills both in Estonian and English.
