The role


As we continue to grow in size, scale and complexity, we are looking for a senior specialist to join our Finance function. Reporting to the Finance Manager, Bank Reconciliations, this newly created role will support our bank reconciliations control function to ensure timely and accurate reporting of bank account balances across the globe.

The successful applicant will be joining at an exciting time as we invest in strengthening our Accounting operations capabilities and improve the quality and robustness of balance sheet reporting, particularly standardisation and automation of reconciliations.

How youll make an impact

  • Perform BAU Bank Reconciliation processes and controls across our GL on all our trading bank accounts. 
  • Manage priorities across multiple bank accounts and ensure timely completion and delivery of controls. 
  • Collaborate with Product, Treasury and Finance teams to investigate discrepancies, understand the root cause and initiate corrective actions.  
  • Connect with internal and external partners to resolve queries in the resolution and escalation of reconciliation challenges where needed.
  • Set-up documentation and processes that are robust and well controlled for period end close and audit purposes. 
  • Continually look at ways of improving data integrity and quality, automation, strengthening of controls, operational and reporting efficiency. 
  • Responsible for guiding and leading automation work and new product development testing alongside daily responsibilities by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with the auditors both internal and external to ensure successful completion of the audits in a timely manner.

What we're looking for

Successful candidates will bring experience of working in a high-volume, complex and dynamic environment, juggling multiple deliverables whilst maintaining accuracy and quality of output.

  • Bachelors Degree in Economics, Accounting or equivalent 
  • 4+ years work experience with reconciliations in a high-volume transaction environment
  • Extremely strong working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Strong data analytics skills and experience handling large volumes of data
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify patterns in numbers & data with skill and confidence
  • Strong understanding of double-entry accounting.
  • Proven ability to find end-to-end solutions to issues and work cross-functionally and with remote teams - including Finance, Product, Engineering, Data
  • Knowledge of the payments industry and/or Fintech would be beneficial
  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills at all levels 
  • Fast learner, able to work independently and with minimal supervision
