Finance Controller function

We are currently looking for a Finance Controller for a fixed term (20 month) contract to join our Finance team based in Vilnius or Tallinn.

The Financial Controller will provide specialist finance expertise to the organisation, ensuring that statutory and tax reporting of the Estonian marketing company are in line with local legal requirements, AZ accounting principles and standards. The role will supervise and coordinate activities of our partners, who provide transactional finance and tax advisory services. The Financial Controller will be responsible for the local risk management and an accurate and up-to-date financial control framework at market level, ensuring that adequate controls are in place.


  • Accountable for the monthly and annual closing processes for statutory and management reporting.
  • Responsible for the compliance with AZ Accounting Polices and standards, month-end process and other requirements for timely and accurate submission of statutory and management accounts data in the group systems.
  • Supervising and supporting transactional accounting service providers.
  • Accountable for completion and filing of local statutory and tax reporting in accordance with local legal requirements.
  • Responsible for managing relationship with tax advisers and quarterly/monthly tax reporting process, ensuring that local tax activities are fully in line with local legislation and Global tax policies.
  • Manage financial controls, ensuring risks are identified and adequate controls are in place and operational in the local market.
  • Ensure a professional management of internal and external audits in the market.
  • Support global banking team, ensuring timely payments to the suppliers and managing relationship with local banks.
  • Support local or global projects roll out in Nordic-Baltic in line with business needs.

Essential requirements:

  • Qualified specialist finance professional (ACCA/CIMA or local equivalent)
  • 2+ years work experience in Finance Function and/or varied range of experiences in Specialist Finance area
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory/statutory requirements and governance principles
  • Structured approach to handling daily interactions with transactional finance team
  • Commitment to deliver a good performance in a timely manner
  • proactive approach to handling issues
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and Estonian or Lithuanian languages
  • Experience of working with SAP would be an advantage
